主讲人简介

Born 17.11.1963, married, one child (born in 2014). Grown up in Winterthur, Switzerland. Finished school with Matura Typus A (ancient languages). Postdoc with Matsushita Communications (Panasonic) in Yokohama, Japan during 1994/95. Affiliated Institution : Adaptive Traffic Control AG , Verkehrs-Systeme AG and CS&S Delineate, Beijing, China

 Recent Projects and products

2014 to date: Online detector data plausibility (product module in the VS-pCoq family)

Development and application of (loop coil) detector slope data plausibility algorithms against erroneous oscillations and continuous occupation times, online and offline

2014 to date: Basel automated traffic quality evaluation system (project using own products)

Calculating traffic quality and traffic control quality for city-wide quality assurance system; a generalization from counts to quality criteria of the Solothurn and Olten count management system

主讲内容简介

  •  Local control issues:

Pure parameterized local traffic control (the model implemented in VS-PLUS)

Traffic-actuated control with a high number of priority vehicles (public transport, emergency vehicles, heavy trucks, VIP corridors), still giving a reasonable amount of green to car traffic, and staying more or less coordinated with the surrounding intersections

How to stay coordinated without a central computer

  •  Area observation and control issues:

Detector data to FCD merging (e.g. for travel time estimation)

Rule-based area traffic control, basing on online traffic observation algorithms, but also on detector to FCD merging (the model implemented in VS-pCoq Net)

  •  New technologies:

Intersection controller I2V content for traffic-actuated control, especially with public transport priority, phase change prediction for traffic-actuated control

V2I intersection control enhancement (e.g. processing GPS data for traffic-actuated control)
